Interview with Billie Eilish

I'm Eliška Stuchlíková, and today I have the honor of speaking with one of the most prominent musical personalities of our time, Billie Eilish.
What led you to your career?
"Honestly? Music was always a part of my life at home. My parents are both really artistic, so I grew up surrounded by songs and creativity. I started writing songs with my brother Finneas when I was about eleven. But I never really thought, like, 'I want to be famous.' We were just doing what we loved… and somehow it just happened."
How has your perspective on fame changed over the past few years?
In the beginning, fame was super overwhelming. I felt like I lost a lot of control over my own life, like everybody had an opinion about me, even people who didn't know me at all.But over time, I've learned to set boundaries and protect my peace. Now, I see fame as... kind of a tool — it gives me a platform to talk about things that matter. But I don't let it define who I am anymore.
Do you have a boyfriend?
Right now? No, I don't. I mean, relationships are cool, but honestly, I'm focusing on myself these days. It's important for me to really know who I am and be happy alone before trying to share that with somebody else
Was it difficult at school?
It was definitely hard sometimes. I was homeschooled for most of my life, but before that, I went to regular school for a little while. And honestly, I didn't really fit in. I was always different — the way I dressed, the way I thought.Kids can be really mean when you're not like them. But in the end, I'm grateful for it, because it made me who I am
What song means the most to you?
That's a tough one. But if I had to choose, I'd say 'Everything I Wanted. It's about a moment when I was feeling really lost and like I wasn't sure if anything was worth it anymore. It was a hard time for me , but writing that song with Finneas helped me find a way through it . It reminds me that I'm not alone, and it's also a reminder of how important my brother is to me. We've been through a lot together.
What was your New Year's resolution?
My New Year's resolution this year was to be more present. I tend to get caught up in the future, always thinking ahead, planning what's next . But this year, I really wanted to focus on enjoying the moments I'm in and not stressing so much about what's coming. Also, I want to keep learning and growing, both as a person and an artist
How did you get into music?
I got into music pretty early, actually . My mom and dad were always into music, so it was part of my life since I was a little kid . But the real turning point was when I was about 11. I started writing songs, and I'd just record them on my phone . I wasn't thinking about it as a career at all ; I just loved expressing myself through music .Then my brother, Finneas, who's a few years older, helped me with the production . He taught me how to make music, and we started working together . That's how everything started.
